How old were you when you started riding 7

When did you know you wanted to be a pro:  When I realized that there was nothing else I could imagine doing every day of the rest of my life!

First Horse:   "Bunny" 15.2 hh, Chestnut, QH mare.  She was the best!  I had her for 10 years and showed in everything from our 4-H Fair to the Children's Jumpers at the "A" shows.  I even taught her how to drive....sort of anyway.  My parents said "no way" when I asked them to buy me a cart... so I drove her around in a nylon harness I bought myself for $100 dragging a jump pole.  My trainer loved me!!

First horse show ribbon ever 4th place in Walk-Trot Equitation (At a barn show, wearing purple pants and a plaid shirt...oh yeah!)

Biggest riding accomplishment to date:  Ridden in two $25,000 Grand Prix and survived!  I was also 12th at the AQHA World Championship show in 1998 in Open Jumping!

Most embarrassing horse moment I had a student jump out of the show ring into the adjoining show ring... into someone's hunter classic round!

Nicest horse you've ever ridden: Lots!  My horse, of course, Max.  Bravest, kindest horse I've ever ridden!  Rose "Funny Face"  Horse that won the 1994 Upperville Grand Prix with Tim Grubb (he was donated to my college!)  Rode a hunter that was 2nd in the country in the Amateur Owners while I was working at a sale barn.

Best Advice anyone ever gave you pertaining to horses:
"I'd rather be lucky than good."  Not sure if that counts as advice, but it's a memorable quote!  Frank Madden said it during a clinic I was riding in.  Didn't really get it at the time, but I do after doing this job for a while!  Guess I'd really rather be both!
