Dear PHJA Members, Trainers,
PHJA Parents and PHJA Customers,
It saddens us to let you know
that Pics of You Photography will no longer be covering any of
our PHJA Shows. This includes our Mid-Year and Year-End Shows,
as well as the shows where they were hired by Cedarhill Farm.
The owner of Pics of You, John, has informed us that they have
had a very high incidence of stolen pictures from their
website. These pictures are being used, without authorization
from Pics of You, and placed on Facebook and My Space accounts.
Please understand that this is theft. These
pictures are for SALE. These guys work long hours and do a good
job to provide a service to us. It’s been very convenient that
we have immediate access to the photos on-site. Their website
is very clear on the unauthorized use of THEIR photos. These
photos belong to them...it may be you, or your horse, or your
dog that is photographed, but the pictures are property of Pics
of You and without payment of these pictures, they are
considered to be stolen. It is very unfortunate that the bad
choices of some individuals have become a punishment to our
entire organization. We have had a long and good business
relationship with Pics of You, so it is frustrating and
disappointing that it will not be able to continue.
Please understand that PHJA
has a rule regarding being in “good standing” with the
organization. This includes, but is not limited to, any vendor
that is hired by PHJA (show managers, concessions, vets,
farriers, photographers, tack shops, etc). If you are not in
“good standing,” (ie: you owe them any money), you will have
your membership privileges revoked and will not be able to
compete at any PHJA sanctioned or co-sanctioned shows.
Trainers, this rule applies to you as well! We don’t want to
“police” the web. At the same time, we don’t condone incidents
such as the one listed above and aren’t going to allow the poor
decisions of some to become a liability to us all.
Thank you,
The PHJA Board of Directors |
